See below: Debbie, Beta blockers act on the epinepherine (adrenaline) receptor. They block it, stopping the epi from attaching to it. The functional result is that they act to slow your heart rate and lower your blood pressure. They are excellent blood pressure medicines if you need them. Hope this helps!
