A member asked:

How long for beta blockers to start to work? does your body take time to adjust?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends, w/i hours: Hi, it depends on the particular beta blocker as a each medication can have different onset of action and other properties. Which is based on its chemical structure and how quickly it can interact with your body and vice versa to cause an effect. Typically, onset of effect can be around 1hr to 3 hours. Again, it depends on which medication. Hope it helps.
