Not really: There is a recent study suggesting the possibility that beta blockers may not lower the risk of heart attack etc as once thought. This study however is not very good, it's not consistent with multiple earlier studies and there are flaws in the study ( it is not randomized, it looked back at past patients, and it may that patients were not comparable). Most docs are not likely to change practice.
