Why was it stopped?: That is the first question. Are you sure the doctor did not mean for you to keep taking the medicine? Do you have refills? Second question for you: How much alcohol do you plan to drink? The answer will depend on those two factors but a small amount (1-2 oz of liquor could be used in general (or 1-2 beers or glasses of wine) More alcohol than that is not good independent of the conditions treated.
