Why anxious ??: The shot just replicates what the body does naturally in releasing stress hormones to fight the stress of infection. It is just a higher dose. The duration in your system would depend on the specific form of the drug given which is not in your post. A single shot does not interfere with your immune system in the long term.

Steroid effect/Anxie: I understand your distress. Steroids can cause Anxiety. Anxiety could also be due to medications, including Asthma medications, Medical conditions including Hyperthyroidism.
