I've been experiencing ear pain for almost a week now. started with vertigo, then lightheaded/dizziness, then ears feeling blocked/clogged, ear sensitivity to loud noises. visited doc. and was told it was swollen and red. told to take decongestants?

Decongestants: Decongestants will only shrink swollen nasal membranes but if the ear canal is reddened and swollen or the ear drum is inflamed, other treatments like ear drops containing antibacterial, antifungal & anti-inflammatory agents or oral antibiotics to treat infected ear drum are needed. I recommend consulting an Otolaryngologist for accurate diagnosis & appropriate treatment.
