If : If this is persistent, it should be evaluated by an otolaryngologist (ENT) with an audiogram (hearing test). The most common cause of tinnitus is hearing loss--many times the loss is not detected. Many feel that a certain level of tinnitus may be physiologic and the reaction to the sounds may make the brain feel like it needs to be dealt with so it cannot be ignored. The persistent dizziness should also be checked. The dizziness and tinnitus together can be due to an inner ear problem and should be checked by your ent.
