My grandpa used a spoon, used only water to wash it and put back with clean spoons. as he didn't use safo, and this cannot be the first time, am i in danger of bacterial infections?

No danger: Water alone can clean knives, forks and spoons enough to remove most, if not all germs providing it is perfectly clean and all food has been washed away. However, it is much easier to clean cutlery if dish washing soap is used. There is no need to soak cutlery in any antiseptic. Acidity of gastric fluid in stomach fortunately can kill almost all ingested bacteria, so you are safe.
