Would washing my vegetables in hot water reduce my chances of getting a bacterial infection?

Very hot water: Water would need to be very hot to kill bacteria. It would be too hot to handle safely and comfortably. Thorough washing will reduce but not eliminate the chance of getting bacterial infection, if the vegetable is contaminated.

Washing helps..: But hot or cold doesn't really matter.
