You may not have a prostate infection but could have a degree of bladder outlet obstruction from prostatic congestion. You may be tested for urinary retention by ultrasound. The urologist can do a prostatic massage if this diagnosis is made. You may also be prescribed a medication like flomax to help completely empty your bladder.

Your symptoms are not typical of non bacterial prostatitis. Yes pl see a Urologist for proper diagnosis and Rx. Recovery time will depend on what is found to be causing this. Good luck.
