I was draining my portable ac from the water it had. the smell of the draining water was bad and it kinda made me have a funny feeling. i didnt have it up close to me though. could this be dangerous? could it cause bacterial or fungal infections?

When cleaning anything that has standing water, fungus, mold and other contaminants may be present. Use a mask and gloves, and drain the water into a toilet (not shower or sink). Disinfect the unit using bleach solution and wash your hands thoroughly after finishing this task. Unless you are experiencing cough, chest tightness, fever, etc, you are probably not infected.
