Are there any home remedies for constipation ?

No other disease?: Each person with constipation needs to be sure there is no other disease causing it. If constipation is just due to slow movement of the food and poop through the gut, things people try are vegetables, water, prune juice, prunes, fiber-plus-water, Miralax (polyethylene glycol) Senokot or other senna, milk of magnesia, other laxatives... A doctor can evaluate and give other meds. Exercise helps!

Fiber, herbs&exercise: Even here in america i've found no better remedy than the classic ayurvedic tonic triphala. A diet rich in fiber from fruits & vegetables is important. Fiber supplements like psyllium can help. Exercise helps. Constipation can be caused by low thyroid. Imbalances of GI flora & magnesium deficiency. Acupressure can provide acute relief- see http://www.Herbalshop.Com/acupressure/acupressure_16.Html.

Diet changes: Try to increase the amount of water anf fiber in you daily diet. You can easily do that by eating more fruits and vegetables, or cereal and bread with more fiber. If all else fails, add a gentle stool softener like metamucil, fibercon, or even prunes.

Diet and fluids: A good high fiber diet and plenty of non caffeinated, non alcoholic fluids should do the trick...Nothing more nothing less. 80-100 ounces of fluids per day at a minimum.
