Diet changes: Try to increase the water and fiber in your diet. You can do that by eating more fruit and vegetables on a daily basis. Avoid things that are dehydrating like soda and alcohol. If all else fails you can take a mild stool softener every day, like metamucil, fibercon, or even prunes.
