Stress echo: A stress echocardiogram is performed to detect possible blockages of coronary arteries, but will also detect damage of heart muscle and weakness of heart muscle. Weakness of heart muscle contraction or cardiomyopathy has various causes including prior heart attacks, longstanding hypertension, viral heart infection, alcoholic damage, advanced valvular heart disease,,etc
