My 2year old has been bitten by our dog and has a small scratch on his hand. i have cleaned the wound and put ointment on. should i take him to the doctor? the wound is not swollen?

No doctor needed: If your dog is up to date on its shots, then there is really nothing that needs to be done at this time. Keep area clean and monitor for any signs of infection such as redness or pussy drainage. If dogs shots are not current, call pediatrician to discuss options.
