My husband got bitten by something on his hand last night. its swollen, painful and has a red streak now. does he need to see a doctor?

Absolutely: Sounds as if the bite may be secondarily infected. Red streaks signify an ascending cellulitis or lymphadenitis and can become very severe and life-threatening very quickly. Hopefully that is not what this is, but he needs to be seen immediately. Go to an er. Hope he is better soon.
