Constipation: Blood in stools is not considered normal. After a week of constipation, straining or hard stools can cause microtears around the anal orifice or hemorrhoids to bleed. Please look into the cause of constipation to improve it. Increase fibers in diet, more water, exercise. Sleep well, decrease caffeine and alcohol. Get a complete physical to evaluate for any pathological causes of constipation.
