No: Ovarian cysts are a result of hormones-estrogen and progesterone. Sterilization only affects the Falopian tubes so that the egg can"t be fertilized with the male sperm. Cysts can be drained if large enough and usually small cysts are a normal finding.

Ovarian cysts ?'s: Sterilization will not alter or change the occurrence of ovarian cyst formation of ovarian cysts, or existing cysts. What will stop the occurrence of ovarian cysts is starting low dose oral bcp's, so ask your gyn physician about this. Oral bcp's can be taken through one's early 50's (if no contraindications exist) which will greatly ease the onset of menopause.
