Covid pneumonia: We all have a normal amount of air we take in and blow out with each breath, and oxygen gets into our blood through the lung tissue, carbon dioxide is blown out. Lungs working at 50% means they are only capable of doing 1/2 their work. With Covid-19, it isn't always easy to know what is next. Dad could get by with extra oxygen for a few days all the way to being on a ventilator. Talk to his doc!

COVID 19: Actually, I am not sure what specifically is being referred to by 50%. I think it is important to ask the doctor specifically what is meant and if supplemental oxygen is needed. It really isn't possible to take the next step.
