Hard to speculate: Pneumonia is a broadly used label that can be applied to both minor or major processes. It is a common complication of covid. Treatment modalities have improved over the past 9 months so optimism is warranted. A single factor suggesting poor outcome is need for a ventilator. You need to get info from those who know this case.

Treatment Discussion: We know more about the treatment options for COVID 19 pneumonia. The use of effective treatment is available and please discuss the use of anti viral medication with his physicians, need for oxygen and follow up imaging. Coverage for bacterial secondary infections is also recommended after screening the secretions for bacterial infection. Discuss early use of Prednisone, avoiding Motrin and NSAID
