I have hoarseness for 2 weeks. and i feel my neck swelling when i speak and hurts. the doc said to me to take azithromycin 500per day. i am at day 3. not feeling better? is the prescription not suitable?

Otolaryngologist: I recommend consulting an Otolaryngologist in view of your 2 weeks of hoarseness and neck discomfort. It is unlikely to be a bacterial infection and, thus, azithromycin will not be of any help. However since you've been taking it, a negative throat culture would be nondiagnostic and you might as well continue it until you see the ENT specialist.
