Do not use: Antibiotic medications should only be taken for infections when they are prescribed by a doctor. Leftover medications mean that 1) the previous infection was not completely treated, and 2) that the patient foresees using it in the future for a non diagnosed or self diagnosed purpose. Both of these are dangerous to the individual and can contribute to recurrent or resistant infections. Do not use.

If so prescribed : If the question has to do with efficacy of expired drugs, they remain active for a while after expiration date and unless visibly spoiled. If you have been prescribed and have some in the house check with prescriber, otherwise self treating your symptoms involves high risk and is not recommended.

NO: It is not advisable to take expired medications (some maybe poisonous) expired Amoxicillin may not take care of the infection and may hurt you by creating a more resistant bacteria. Please see your doctor for proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment ( antibiotic choice, dose, therapy duration).Take care of yourself.
