A member asked:

36yrs old. gallbladder removed. then edg for continued pain. doc found gastritis and also dilated my esophagus. i'd never had issues swallowing. after i started having acid reflux. has continued for 3 months. will it go away or is this permanent now?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Life style changes: Usually it is not permanent. Gastritis and reflux can be related to a variety of things including lack of exercise, excessive caffeine, alcohol or sour foods, sleeping soon after eating, increased stress, otc anti-inflammatory use. H pylori infection is another cause. Implement lifestyle changes and may need, if not already on them medications like omeprazole for 6-12 weeks.
