A member asked:

About 8 months ago i burned the anterior aspect of my forearm. it was a textbook second degree burn and it healed as expected, but i still have significant sensitivity/nerve pain near the burn site. can i expect that sensitivity to go away over time?

Nerve associated : The nerve endings may be damaged and/or inflamed. A numbing cream may be applied to control pain. Cool compresses also may provide relief. Eventually, you most likely will have recovery, but without further details, it is difficult to determine.

Nerve sensitivity: Agree with Dr Dosanjh, With second degree burns there is a good chance for the sensitivity to improve but it is difficult to say how long it might take. Nerve injuries can take several years to recover. Wish you continued recovery.
