A member asked:

What are side effects of uterine scarring after a myomectomy? can scarring heal on its own? can scarring cause infertility? can fallopian tubes be scarred after myomectomy and being opened during the operation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Myomectomy ?'s: Myomectomy as any surgical procedure can cause scarring of injured tissue, and depending on where the scarring develops, may interfere with fertility. If your tubes were open during the myomectomy, you might need a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) to make sure they are still open: consult your gyn physician for appropriate testing.
