Have neck, shoulder blade and now going down my arms to my hands pain for the past 5 days. ive been takin 2 advils every 6 hours which works alittle but not a lot. what should i do?

Need neck x-ray: You are describing symptoms consistent with a herniated disc in your neck. You need to see a doctor and start with an exam and neck x-rays. Don't be afraid that you will be referred for surgery. Most times your symptoms are not treated surgically.

neck pain: if the pain in your neck is one-sided, and it involves 1 of your arms, then it could be a pinched nerve in her neck that is causing the symptoms. Local ice to the neck area for 20 minutes helps. If it involved both sides of the neck, both arms then the issue may be muscular and will respond to ice, heat and over-the-counter medicines. If symptoms do not improve your doctor needs to see you.

Radicular symptoms: You appear to be describing radicular symptoms traveling the pathway of the cervical nerves as they exit the cervical spine (neck area) a course across the shoulder region and move down your arm, elbow, forearm, and hand. You may have an abnormal disc between the vertebral bones in your neck that is pushing up against nerve roots exiting the spinal cord. You need a through orthopaedic evaluation.
