My 18 y/o son has had 101-102 fever past 2 days. some congestion & cough. flu shot 5 days ago. he works at walmart so could've been exposed to anything. should he try to get covid test? is fever normal after flu shot?

Flu shot: Some people get a flu like reaction after receiving the flu shot, but don't usually get a high fever, severe cough and heavy congestion. If he's producing copious discolored sputum, which is not characteristic of the Covid 19 respiratory tract infection, I would consider him a candidate for an examination by a physician to determine whether oral antibiotics are advisable. Covid testing also.
