A member asked:

Is there a benefit of getting a transvaginal ultrasound versus pelvic? do you basically see the same things?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ultrasound ?'s: Transvaginal ultrasound (U/S) will essentially cover the same areas as an "abdominal" ultrasound, so unless the reason for the U/S is for other than gyn reasons (i.e., kidney, liver, intestinal reasons) a transvaginal U/S is sufficient.
