A member asked:

Will using a fast flow hurt my newborn baby? my husband has been using the 6 months and older bottle nipple on our newborn. i noticed when i heard him gulping and choking needing breaks. has this harmed him? its been happening for 2 weeks?

Basics: The best working nipple for any bottle fed infant is one they do not work extra to gain a meal but do not choke on the flow. Often just turning the bottle over to time the drip/drip sequence will help tell a proper flow. If the drips come 1=2/second it is likely fine. If it flows nearly continuously it is a problem.
