Face the fear: To be brave, act brave. Most choking isn't cancer or untreatable disease. Transient chest pains are often the knife-like "stitch" from a brief fold in the pleura -- a very deep forced breath will end it. Since you are afraid, it's time to visit your physician; don't accept any answer that doesn't leave you satisfied, whether the news is good or bad. Good luck.

Chest pain: Most likely you have a condition called gerd. The lower sphincter in your esophagus is too relaxed and food easily travels in a wrong direction. Have an ENT perform a endoscopy and see what they find.
