A member asked:

I am 19 and not pregnant, and i keep getting strep b, kept thinking they were uti's but doc said last 3 cultures tested + for strep b, what do i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Strep B may be norma: Streptococcus b (strep b) is a bacteria that is part of the normal bacteria flora in the female vagina. It is not normal to have strep b in the urine, however. Unless the cultures were done with a sterile catheterized specimen, this result is probably a contaminant from vagina.
