This type of injury is very painful and very slow to heal. It helps to avoid sitting on hard surfaces. Use a donut device to sit on, even in a warm bathtub. Medications are not usually that helpful. It usually takes about 4-6 weeks to heal. If you notice numbness or pain into your lower extremities then you should see your doctor. This problem is called coccydynia.
