Eccentric loading: of a muscle, or that period when youre starting to slow and there is so much stress on a muscle, is a likely time to suffer a pull or a tear. I would expect this to get better in a 1-2 weeks, but if it is not is more likely a tear or ligamentous injury in the foot and will need imaging and exam to be sure. While NSAIDs are good for short periods, they have been shown to possible delay healing too.
