Messy stools: You may have longstanding irritable bowel syndrome with stools that are too loose. Try firming up your stool by taking a fiber supplement like Metamucil. Don't eat too much fruit at one time. Probiotics may help. If you can't identify what's causing loose BM's, look into the fodmap diet. Consult a gastroenterologist as needed.
