A member asked:

Nicked my skin with a blade that was previously used by someone with hiv. can that result in an infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Skin infection : Yes you could get a skin infection from a contaminated blade but also would need to be checked for your HIV status now and every 3 months for the next 6 months to make sure you have not contracted the virus. Keep the wound clean with soap and water and place a light cover dressing as you go to the doctor.
