Yes: Fractures may not be visualized immediately after trauma, specifically hairline and not displaced. Some other times the actual lesion is not at the contact place but in the closer joint, in your case might have involved the jaw bone all the way to the TMJ. Would suggest seeing your doc or dentist for a follow up exam and repeat imaging as needed.
