Relux workup: Gastroesophageal reflux (gerd) disease is caused from numerous factors. Some to consider: alcohol and tobacco use, diet, anatomy (hiatal hernia), obesity, and medications. Work up with endocsopy, ph (acid test) probe, xrays (upper gi), and possible manometry (pressure tests) are necessary. Treatment begins with medication and lifestyle changes.
