Don’t crush pills: There is little to be gained from crushing Azithromycin, but potentially much risk. Azithromycin notably can cause a prolonged QTc interval on your EKG—which indicates a prolonged time for the repolarization or “resetting” of your heart rhythm. If the old beat resets too late as the new beat is starting, one could develop ventricular fibrillation, and shortly thereafter death. Not worth it.
