She should see a Dr: Mirena IUD is a non-hormone contraceptive device that is 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. It does not prevent Sexually Transmitted Infections and may actually predispose the patient toward Pelvic Inflammatory Disease if the pt has multiple partners/high risk sex. That said, your daughter needs to be evaluated in person by a Gyn Dr to discuss all the potential options/side effects.

Mirena: There is no minimum age requirement for Mirena but your daughter will need to be seen by a medical provider for this to prescribed & inserted.
