A member asked:

Is it dangerous to take meclizine daily long term? for someone that suffers with severe vertigo and is the only medicine that helps?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Meclizine: Most clinicians prefer that you don't take meclizine chronically but that you seek the cause of your vertigo by consulting a neurootolaryngologist, preferably at a university hospital, and get definitive treatment depending upon the diagnosis. I think this is especially important for a young patient like yourself. Chronic meclizine intake can interfere with some rehabilitation techniques.
