Took 2 meclizine (antivert) pills today for dizziness. it caused severe anxiety. can i take an ativan (lorazepam) to help me relax or will it interact?

Caution: Meclizine is an older antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) so typically causes drowsiness, not anxiety, but every patient is different. Long-acting benzos like Ativan are also used to help control dizziness, so the two drugs will work well together to suppress vertigo, but will also double the sedation. Taking one Ativan pill now should be ok, but better to start with just one pill of each initially.
