What does this mean from an abdominal exray: some paucity of small bowel gas. gas seen in mildly prominent small bowel loop left mid to lower abdomen. gas and fecal material seen in nondistended colon along the periphery?

Paucity=less: The statement just says there is less than the average amount of gas seen. It is of no real importance unless it is paired with a physical exam & the ordering docs reason for the study. In general it sounds pretty normal.
