6 year old diagnosed with strep tuesday. on 3xday liquid antibiotic. has had 8 doses., throat, head, ear still hurts. it's friday am now. normal?

Not unusual: I would run it by the doc that saw him tuesday, because there are rare things that could be complicating his strep throat, like an abcess, but it is not all that unusual to feel crappy for 5-7 days if he had a bad case of it. It is natures way of letting you know it is still fighting the infection and you need rest and nutrition. If still running a fever, definitely give doc a call back!

Test confirmed ??: It would be unusual for a test confirmed strep not to improve within 48hrs unless it presented with a concurrent infection like mono (which happends).Ear pain is also not common with a simple strep.I would call in & schedule a recheck before the weekend.
