Globus pharyngis: This may be a condition called globus pharyngitis. Sometimes its psychogenic, but medical causes stemming from the laryx/hypopharynx/vocal cords/esophagus should be ruled out. If due to laryngeal spasms, the ENT may not see that on his scope. A trial of treatment with antacids may be attempted to not only treat but also diagnose an esophageal etiology such as gerd.
