Trigger point: Sometimes a local irritation of the muscle groups in your back can cause a specific, usually small area to hurt. Called a trigger point. Things as simple as ice to the area(better than heat) for 20 min can help. But if the pain is over the actual bones of the spine, please see your doctor for a check to see if imaging is needed.
