A member asked:

Doctor please what is non opacified tubes with absence of spill bilaterally and utrerine cavity with a linear filling defect suggestive of a fibrotic scar seen in the right lateral wall?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Some basics: An x-ray study of the uterus & tubes uses an opaque material that will show up on x-ray. It is pushed into the womb & a normal study would show the material enters the uterus & eventually goes into the tubes on either side. When/if it is seen to spill out into the abdominal cavity it means there is an opening that sperm can move through. Lack of spill/filling defect=blocked tubes.
