Yes - avoid it!: Dexamethasone use for more than a couple of days can cause diabetes mellitus in pregnant and non-pregnant adults by artificially increasing the blood sugar levels due to its metabolic/endocrine effects. These effects should be reversed once the steroids are stopped - depending on other comorbidities. Avoid using Dexamethasone during pregnancy as much as possible and explore alternatives options.
