I can never get a straight answer to this question. when cold air hits my chest area, the area stays cold for hours. same with the center of my back. like when you swallow something cold. same feeling. why would this be?

Vasoconstriction: Not sure you'll ever get a "straight" answer to this. When any skin is exposed to cold, the local blood vessels constrict to reduce blood flow preventing heat loss from the body. When this reaction is exaggerated and prolonged in hands & feet its called Raynaud's syndrome. At 72 you can have diminished circulation anywhere for many reasons & the end result would be the same exaggerated reaction.
