Esophageal spasm: From your description it sounds as though you might have esophageal spasms. The esophagus is the muscular tube that connects your throat to your stomach. Sometimes a hot or cold drink can trigger spasms in the muscle of the esophagus. If your symptoms persist and you continue to have trouble breathing, seek treatment ASAP.
