A member asked:

Is there a risk of catching covid-19 via airborne transmission if you are in a car with someone for 7-8 hours and this person has no symptoms (asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic) and no mask? how can i protect myself? would a visor & hand-gel help me?

COVID transmission: Yes, there is risk of transmission with that scenario if the other person is infected. Would protect by insuring that both of you wear masks. Increase ventilation by having car windows open (if possible). Distance as much as possible within the vehicle. In otherwards- if one is driving the other can sit in back. The shield would protect from droplets, not from airborne particles. Clean surfaces.

See below: Sinusitis Covid-19: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html Please contact your doctor by phone for further evaluation and mechanism for testing in your area. Wear a mask, stay away from others, practice hand hygiene. Be sure to get tested, if you get symptoms. If you develop breathing difficulty, go to the nearest hospital, immediately. Wish you good health.
